
Alexandra Keen received her classical training from The Washington School of Ballet under the direction of Mary Day. She attended summer intensives at The Ballet Theatre of Maryland, North Carolina School of the Arts, and The Washington School of Ballet. She went on to receive her BA in Dance Performance from Point Park University, graduating magna cum laude. While at Point Park, Miss Keen was fortunate enough to perform in George Balanchine’s Serenade, as well as many original works by Jay Kirk, Peter Merz, and Lauri Stallings, formerly of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.
Upon graduating from Point Park, Miss Keen joined The Ballet Theatre of Maryland, rising to soloist after just one year with the company. Miss Keen has performed with other regional companies and choreographers including ConcorDance Contemporary Dance, I.C. Movement Project, Olney Ballet Theatre, as well as with Bowen McCauley Dance Company where she had the opportunity to travel to China for a ten day tour, performing throughout the country and being the first American dance company to perform in the Guangdong Dance Festival.
Miss Keen enjoys teaching and sharing her love of dance and has taught throughout the DC metro area for the past fourteen years. She is also on staff at George Washington University teaching Barre fitness classes.
