Ali grew up in Maryland, and began dancing at a small ballet school when she was four. Although she only danced formally for ten years, her love of the art of dance continued to grow. After moving to Virginia, and seeing her daughter develop a passion for dance, Ali researched a number of dance studios in the area. She knew she wanted a studio that placed emphasis on proper technique, etiquette, and foundational skills. Ali knew she’d found the right dance studio with Ashburn Academy of Dance.
Dancing has become a family affair, with not only her daughter being a part of BTA and Edge, but with her husband, Chris, joining in as well. Ali and Chris are regulars on stage during The Nutcracker, as well as being featured as parents in both Sleeping Beauty and Peter Pan.
You can also find Ali behind the scenes and in the wings at rehearsals and recitals with her camera, helping to capture memories for dancers and their families.
While her daughter recently graduated after 14 years as an AAD dancer, Ali couldn’t say good bye to the studio just yet. She joins the staff this year as part of the front desk Admin Team. And, you’ll still be able to find her in the wings during the shows.
