
Daphne Batista started dancing at the age of three at Tari’s School of Dance in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During the summer of 2004, she moved to Virginia and continued dancing at Ashburn Academy of Dance where she studied a variety of dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and lyrical.
She graduated cum laude from George Mason University, with a BA in Dance, in addition to a BS in Biology. As a member of the George Mason University Dance Company, she was under the direction of Susan Shields and distinguished faculty Christopher D’Amboise, Dan Joyce, Luis Torres Ortiz, Karen Reedy, and Jim Lepore.
